Nor Cal Wildcats Basketball Club is a non-profit, competitive basketball program for boys and girls, ages 5-18.  Founded in 2000 by long-time Davis resident Dr. Bob Silva, Wildcats started out with one team.  Within a few years, it had ten teams.  Our 300+ players represent the communities of Davis, Dixon, Winters, Woodland, Sacramento and Vacaville.
The core of our program is our competitive AAU basketball teams for grades 3rd through 8th.  Our experienced Wildcats coaches provide the fundamental training needed for young athletes to improve year-to-year, working with each player to develop his or her strengths while also identifying and developing areas of needed improvement.  This program caters to individual growth while promoting a strong team-building experience.
The most recent additions to our club are Junior Wildcats and the Wildcats Developmental League (WDL), which specialize in the development of basic basketball skills for children in Grades K-4.  The mission of both programs is to introduce young athletes to the proper skills and technique of basketball while helping to develop a passion for the game, all in a fun, supportive and well-organized structure.  Junior Wildcats and WDL were developed and are run by current Wildcats coaches and players.  In the 2014-2015 season, we introduced a new Strength and Performance Training Program, led by qualified trainers and coaches.
Nor Cal Wildcats is run by dedicated volunteers who serve on an Advisory Board or the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors hires the Financial Administrator who carries out the financial duties of the club.
As a non-profit organization, Nor Cal Wildcats relies on annual fundraising efforts to keep our registration fees as low as possible; to offset administrative, facilities, equipment, and tournament costs; and to provide scholarships to players in financial need.  Please check our website frequently for fundraising dates and activities.
