Davis Hoops 10U Wins Again!

The 10U Wildcats team took first place at the 5th Annual "Cross 'Em Up" Invitational in Lodi March 1st and 2nd. The team is a combination of Davis and Dixon players. The boys won the opening game 30 to 15 over the Nor Cal Flying Tigers. Glen Welch led the scoring with 8 points, Stephan Gelpi, Patrick Ganaway and Kyle Cuvelier each had 6 points, Reese Peterson and Tommy Mctygue each had 2 points, Quinn Foster and Mathew Cheung contributed with great assists. In the second game the Wildcats beat the Lodi Nitro's 26 to 19. Welch and Ganaway lead with 8 points each. Reese Peterson added 4 points. Foster, Cheung and McTygue each had 2 points. In the championship game, the Wildcats beat the D1 All-Stars 32 to 24. Welch led the scoring with 12 points, while Ganaway and Gelpi each had 6 points. McTygue and Peterson each added 4 points. Foster, Hassid, Chung, and Austin provided much needed defense and rebounding. "The team is having great success this year. They have placed second in two tournaments and won another two," head coach Jean Gelpi reports. Up next for the Wildcats, is the Davis Hoops Invitational on March the 16th at Harper Junior High in Davis. GREAT JOB WILDCATS!!!

Hoops' Tensters Take 2 out of 3 in Davis Tournament

The Davis Wildcats 10U basketball team hosted a basketball tournament at Harper February 16, and won two of three games. In the first game, Davis lost to eventual champion Folsom Force by a score of 36-27. The Wildcats were led by Glen Welch with 15 points, Tommy McTygue added 8 points, and Matt Cheung finished with 4 points. In the second game, Davis beat the Rocklin Rollers 41-15, getting 19 points from Welch, 7 points from Cheung, 6 points from Jonathan Miras, and Patrick Ganaway finishing with 3 points. Stephan Gelpi, Kyle Cuvelier, and McTygue each added 2 points. In the final game, the Wildcats got balanced scoring while beating the Lodi Flying Tigers 37-14. Welch had 7 points, Ganaway and Miras 6 points, Cuvelier 5 points, Reese Pederson 4 points, and Cheung with 3 points. Nathan Hassid, McTygue, and Gelpi each added a basket.

 

Wildcats Win New Years  Tournament in Stockton

The 10U Boys Davis Hoops Wildcats team took first place at the New Year Premier Invitational in Stockton, CA. the weekend of Jan. 26, 2008. The team is a combination of Davis and Dixon players. The boys won the opening game 33-12 over the Morgan Hill Saints. Matthew C. led the scoring with 9 points, Glen W. had 8 points, Reese P. had 6 points, Stephan G. and Tommy M. each had 4 points, and Jonathon M. contributed 2 points. Nathan H. played outstanding defense. In the championship game, the Wildcats beat the host NC Flying Tigers 26-7. Glen W. led the scoring with 13 points, while Matthew C. had 7 points. Tommy M., Stephan G., and Patrick G. each added a basket. Quinn F., Nathan H., Jonathon M., and Reese P. provided much needed defense and rebounding. The team looks forward to hosting our own tournament in February. GREAT JOB WILDCATS!!!
