Girls 7th Grade


Wildcats Finish Season Strong in Reno

The 7th grade Lady Wildcats also brought home second place through solid team play. They started off strong, blowing away the competition by an average of 18 points in their first two games.

In their third game they battled a tough opponent but showed their intelligence and great defense and held on to a ten point lead to make it to the finals.

In the championship, the girls gave their all but couldn't find the outside touch and suffered a tough defeat. Playing in the highest division, the 7th grade boys team finished with two wins and two losses, finishing their season with a 22-7 record.

 

 


First in First!

The 7th grade girls team began their season with a first place victory at the Sac Area Sports Division 1 tournament in Sacramento March 8-9. The team consists of 13 Dixon and Davis players with five girls returning for their third consecutive season with the program.

The season opener was against the Pacific Pistols Gold and the Wildcats led the entire game, ending with a 44-38 win. Sam DelMugnaio was the high scorer for the game while Nicole Deusenberry and Sarah Thomason dominated in rebounds.

The Wildcats went up against a very strong opponent, Solano Elite, and trailed all game by seven points; however, in the fourth quarter the Wildcats tightened up their defense and pulled ahead. Madison Dwelley went 2 for 2 from the 3 point line and finished with 8 points, followed closely by Jenna Bassler, Sam DelMugnaio and Nicole Deusenberry with 7, 6 and 6 points respectively. Carlene Dyer led the team in steals.

The championship game was played against the Pacific Pistols Blue and the Wildcats emerged victorious with a 29-22 win. Sam DelMugnaio led the team in points and rebounds, while Nicole Deusenberry led the team in steals.
